Oh hey, I’m Monique!
Nice to Meet you
Let’s start with what came first – my hubby! I found him in the percussion section in 7th grade band class. Yep – we turned into high school sweethearts and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I’ve been married to my best friend for 20 years as of July 2024 and I thank God everyday for the man He gave me. In our home we put God first and faithfully proclaim “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15. We serve in ministry with our children by our side and take seriously the mandate as their parents to raise them to know Christ Jesus, have their identity rooted in Him and to have Him as their firm foundation. Currently I’m a stay-at-home mom of 4, but when we first got married, I literally told my husband I’d never want to be that. Why? Well, I was an elementary teacher and I just knew my job would fit perfectly with raising children so I never thought about it. But boy, after my 2nd child was born, I sure had a change of heart. My husband and I began seeking the Lord for new direction and provision so that I could stay home and, with some huge steps of faith, God showed up and we made the transition! I’ve definitely learned over the years that God always has a plan and it usually isn’t what I was thinking (but it’s always so much better!). Enter homeschool…

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3
I loved being a public school teacher so why wouldn’t I send my kids to public school? Then covid happened and my type A personality took over – anyone else? Ha! I hated the zoom classes and the unknown of going to school or not going wasn’t what was best for my kids. So I decided to homeschool and it turns out we absolutely love it! It’s such a wonderful gift of time with my kids, it gives me the ability to instill the word of God in them in ways I didn’t have before, and I will never regret being 100% a part of my children’s education. We are on a God adventure that I will be forever grateful for!
